Saltpier Gulls supporters traditionally throw fried food when their team wins. On Saturday they began at 2:55pm, five minutes before kickoff.
"It's not arrogance," one supporter explained, holding a basket. "It's scheduling."
The Gulls lost 2-1. The food remained thrown.
Gita Shore, whose restaurant supplies most of it, has introduced a stadium-only portion size she calls 'The Optimist'.
