The Huburb Museum of Ordinary Objects has accepted into its permanent collection a black umbrella, broken, left on a Route 12 bus on a day it did not rain.
"Someone carried a broken umbrella onto a bus in sunshine and then abandoned it," the curator said. "That is the entire city in one artefact."
The umbrella will be displayed beside the museum's most visited item: a single glove, catalogued in 1994, still unclaimed.
