We have a carousel that has been restored for fifteen years, an airport terminal that exists only in signage, and a bicycle tunnel that became housing before it became a tunnel.

And yet: tourists come to photograph the scaffolding. A teenager built a career on it. Our unfinished things are, measurably, our most successful exports.

I am not defending the mayor. I have defended the mayor before and it did not go well for either of us. I am suggesting that incompletion may be Huburb's actual civic identity, and that we should charge admission.
